Des posts partagés plusieurs milliers de fois sur les réseaux sociaux depuis le 17 janvier épinglent Brigitte Macron pour s'être rendue au chevet d'enfants malades "sans masque et sans aucune distanciation sociale". Mais les photos datent du 8 janvier 2020, avant que la Chine n'annonce le premier mort officiel du Covid-19 et que le virus ne frappe l'Europe. Des images de la Première dame dans un hôpital pour enfants prises le 18 janvier 2021 la montrent bien porter un masque, mais sans toujours respecter les gestes barrières.
